Default How to keep from being overrun?

My current build is a Lvl 10 War/Elem I have a full set of 50 ringmail armor and a 11-15 Sword, my main problem is being mobbed by groups of enemies while traveling alone. a group of Whiptail/Carrion Devourers and a evil plant-thing can beat me down quickly. What are my best ways around this?

I don't like the War/elem build but it is what I'm stuck with till I can change at lvl20. I have Earth/stone armor skill that raises defense and slows movement, and a fire spell that gives nearby foes 5 dmg for like 10 seconds... but thats about it to help me in these situations.

Thanks for any ideas.

First, there is NO reason to go alone. Even if you can't find a real person, grab an NPC or 2 or more (healers work for non healing characters) and go with that. What you give up in xp during the mission, you gte back by completing the mission that much faster and safer.

Second, IF being mobbed by things is causing you an issue, either move some points into tactics... especially defense or move more points into the elemntalist AoEs and make them better.

That's a start.

Well, I personally don't travel without henchies. Much safer that way.

yes but henches still your loot

my best sugenstion is just level up alittle bit more to get your health higher that will help you last a bit longer. and if your a elementalist dont use fire use earth. earth has alot of nice additional armor for your tankers. give that a shot and see how it works im sure when you cange the elemental to earth and use the proper armor spells and enchantments you will see a big difference in what you can do solo.

I solo these things all the time as a elemntal/monk and im level 14

You need to play your build better. W/El rocks! Just grab some henchies like the others said.

I assume you mean steal your loot.

Actually, they just get their cut from drops EXACTLY as if a real person was with you... you just don't see it.

On the bright side... as a healer, I LOVE taking just one fighter henchman. The always attack who I attack, defend me well AND don't run away from me, get themselves killed and THEN have the nerve to yell at me for not being able to heal them half way across the map

Heh.

THey may take a cut of the gold but 100% of the drop are yours. and that is where the real value is... slavaging drops accounts for easily 80% of the value of questing or exploring an area. not the gold.... Also I noticed that the higher level you are and the lower level the henchmen... the better the cut of gold is to the higher level. so if you are level 15 and henchmen are level 10 you get the better cut of the collected gold.

Make sure you have a lot of AoE. You won't stand a chance unless you can bring enemies down in 1-3 swings.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that 100% of the drops are yours. Do you notice how often an enemy is killed and doesn't drop anything? I think those are the drops that are assigned to the henchmen and are invisible to the player. I often see members of my H-Unit bending down to pick up what looks to be nothing. I think that is the gear that they "win" based on whatever method is used to calculate these things. The player just can't see what the henchie gets.

THIS is correct. As I said, the henchies get there cut of items too (and gold), you just don't see it drop at all. This is the price you pay for taking them with.

This IS logical not to see the drops, since you don't get them, NPCs are not smart enough to trade them to you, AND it does not add to the system processing power through random rolls with what gets dropped, so CPU power is saved, as is the table loot drop system that has plauged other games for years.

Yet another great innovation in this game... cut out the dumb stuff that leads to lag and such and put in the good stuff... like henchmen for those times you can't find a group or just want to be alone, but still complete missions.

Of course, wouldn't it be infuriating if you saw your henchmen pick up a gold 15-22 dragon sword?

every kill produces a drop 100% of the time....

so if you go solo you get something from everything you kill, thats the reason to go solo without any henchys.

as he stated he is having trouble and a Warrior/Elementalist can be very effective when you use your attributes correctly. being a elementalist with warrior can make you the best tanker in the game with the Earth defense that you can add.

My first suggestion is either commit to earth or fire magic not both. if earth stress the extra defense if fire pickup some of the cheap energy AOE spells. I play a w/e use axe between two lava fonts with an axe swing in between you do some cool AOE damage that is tough on everything around you
